Exchange Server Recovery

Kernel for Exchange Server is an advanced and powerful solution that restores mailboxes/folders from inaccessible or corrupt Exchange database .EDB files to easily accessible MS Outlook .PST files. What could make an Exchange database .EDB files corrupt or damaged include numerous reasons like Exchange Server failure due to improper Server shutdown, damaged header information, virus attacks, physical damage of storage media, file size errors, all types of JET Engine errors, human errors, etc. Kernel for Exchange Server converts EDB to PST without requiring a running Exchange Server (that ExMerge or Import-Mailbox utilities demands). The tool accurately recovers all the emails, attachments, folders, images, tasks, notes, appointments, journals, Sent Items, permanently deleted emails, email properties, etc.

Introduction of duplicate items filter keeps duplicate entries at bay. Permanently deleted items can now be previewed and exported as per user’s choice. Also, deleted items are highlighted in RED color for Microsoft Exchange 2000, 2003 and 2007 versions.

  • There is no limitation of databases and mailbox size.
  • Advanced Settings helps optimizing and improving restoration of .EDB files.
  • Generates and saves HTML report of recovered mailbox items.
  • Allows filtering duplicate items to remove similar entries while exporting data.

  • Available free trial version enables user to save first 25 items per folder available in .EDB file.

Two Modes of Recovery:

Standard Scan: The fastest mode of data recovery that extracts user mailboxes from corrupt EDB database and then saves recovered data in .PST file format.

Advanced Scan: This mode extracts mailbox data from severely corrupt EDB database and saves the recovered data in .PST file format. This mode should be selected when the Standard Scan mode fails to recover the user mailbox data.

Advanced Settings to optimize and improve EDB repair process:

  • Use message table to get “From” field: Select this option if the software displays junk text in the “From” field of the emails or this field is blank. On selecting this option, software will search for the “From” field at alternate location in EDB database.
  • Use Disk Space: Select this option to allow software to use disk space while scanning and recovering EDB items. Select this option when the EDB file is too large (in GBs or TBs).
  • Select EDB File Version: When the Standard Scan mode fails to recover the user mailboxes from the selected Exchange database, the tool switches to Advanced Scan mode and asks to select the Exchange Server version with which the EDB file is created.

Advanced Settings to optimize and improve EDB repair process:

  • Unable to initialize the MS Exchange Information Store service
  • “JET_errRecordNotFound, the key was not found” , “Jet_errRecordDeleted”
