Deleted a file by mistake and Don’t know how to get it back? Don’t worry as it’s still there with in your reach. Whenever you delete a file using Shift+ Del key, Or when you delete a big file whose size is bigger than the capacity of Recycle Bin it doesn’t move to Recycle Bin which means you can’t restore it back from Recycle Bin. The file is still recoverable with the help of free data recovery software called Recuva. Actually when we delete a file its contents are not permanently deleted, only the index entry which directs the file system to that location is deleted. The contents are still there until that location which is now marked as free is allocated to some other file. So whenever you mistakenly deleted a file and want it back the first thing you must do is to stop using the system and download and install Recuva and scan system to recover file back.

When you run Recuva, you are prompted to choose the type of file you’re looking to recover, whether music, documents, pictures etc. Next, choose the drive where it was located before deletion or the whole PC itself. Before finishing, you will be asked whether you want to perform a ‘deep scan’ – check this option only if Recuva is unable to find your file in the first try. Files found in the scan are marked either green (easy to recover), yellow (difficult to recover) or red (permanently deleted). Sometimes, the file’s name might not be identifiable, but you can try the thumbnail preview or use your own judgment to figure out whether that’s the file you were looking for. Once you locate your file, click ‘Recuva’ and save it to your hard drive. Download it from  www.piriform.com/recuva

Other Options :
If you are unable to recover file using Recuva you can choose other options also which are paid. Sometimes there are situations when a particular software can’t recover the data but other can, It all depend on algorithm used by that program. I wouldn’t suggest you to buy a software without knowing if it is suitable one. For this first download the demo version of the tool. Using demo version you can preview the files to be recovered but you can’t save them. For saving them you have to buy the Software. One  good paid software is :  Stellar Windows Data Recovery
